Continuous improvement of warehouse management in distribution companies of the Cuban electricity sector

Abstract

This research focused on the implementation of a procedure for the continuous improvement of warehouse management. It proposes 4 phases, distributed in 17 stages, aimed at evaluating and proposing solutions that guarantee the continuous improvement of the process under study. It includes tools and techniques for continuous improvement, models and procedures for warehouse management, the effectiveness of warehouse management, customer service level indicators and other techniques that determine the main problems that negatively affect the warehousing process. In addition, the results of the application of the procedure in the central warehouse are shown. With the implementation, Empresa Distribuidora de Materiales para la Energía has a working tool for the application in the warehouse management system and also serves as a reference of national interest for all warehouses in the system.
