Road safety education strategy in Sancti Spíritus province, Cuba
Abstract
Road safety education is essential to create a safe, responsible and aware community. Accordingly, the article aims to propose a road safety education strategy in the community of Colón, in the province of Sancti Spíritus. It is developed from a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental correlational design. A road safety education strategy was based on four stages: diagnosis, design, implementation, control and feedback. The results allow for an increase in road safety and education in the community, which translates into a decrease in accident indicators, an increase in the confrontation of road indiscipline, the execution of a road infrastructure improvement plan, an increase in vehicle safety, research and events on road safety and education, and an increase in information and vigilance campaigns for the reduction of risk factors.
