Attitudes toward statistics and research among undergraduate students: a bibliometric analysis

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze undergraduate students’ attitudes toward statistics and research through a bibliometric study. Methodologically, it was based on quantitative, documentary research characterized by a descriptive bibliometric analysis of scientific publications on both constructs, published between 2021 and 2026 and indexed in Scielo, Scopus, and Web of Science, in order to compare the global landscape with that of Latin America. The results show a growing global trend, with peak output in 2025, specifically in countries such as Peru and Ecuador. It is concluded that research on attitudes toward statistics and research among undergraduate students constitutes an expanding field, although the Latin American body of work remains concentrated in specific geographic, thematic, and disciplinary areas.
