Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the Wari archaeological complex as a catalyst for sustainable territorial development and a model of heritage governance through a systematic review. Methodologically, a qualitative study was conducted based on a literature review, using the systematic review as a technique and analysis matrices as a tool. The PRISMA methodology was also followed. The results showed that the social appropriation of heritage has strengthened the sense of belonging, fostering community participation and stimulating economic activities linked to tourism, heritage education, and cultural industries. Furthermore, the Wari Model of Heritage-Based Territorial Development was proposed to integrate heritage, governance, identity, and development. The study concluded that Wari has established itself as a driver of sustainable development through participatory, inclusive management focused on the well-being of local communities.
