Risk management in solid waste for hospital establishments. Systematic review
Abstract
The objective of this article was to analyze solid waste risk management as a strategy to mitigate contamination in hospital establishments through a theoretical-conceptual review in Latin America. For this purpose, 15 articles published between 2020 and 2025 in indexed journals, located through academic databases such as Scielo, Redalyc, Scopus, were analyzed. As a result, it was specified that solid waste risk management as a strategy to mitigate contamination in hospital establishments has generated progressive advances in the adoption of integrated approaches that have articulated technical, health, occupational, training, regulatory and environmental dimensions. It was concluded, therefore, that these approaches have been promoted as a response to the need to mitigate environmental contamination and strengthen safety in hospital establishments
